The Conference
featured James Tobin,PhD, author of the book, The Man He Became: How FDR
Defied Polio to Win the Presidency. Dr. Tobin was very interesting and provided an open discussion environment
and fielded many questions from those in attendance. His responses reflected the thorough research and indepth investigation
which became the basis for his book. Although his books were not available for sale, many people brought copies of the book
with them. Dr. Tobin graciously signed many books. For more information and additional books written by Dr.
Tobin, this is a link to the author's page at Simon & Schuster, Inc., publisher.
Adam Quick, MD, a neurologist from The Ohio State University, Department of Neurology, provided
us with invaluable informatiion on the topic: “Assessing Problems related to the Late Effects of Polio
- The Role of the Neurologist” Although Dr. Quick provided slides containing
the pertinent points of his presentation, he quickly made the transition to answering a high number of questions from those
present and definitely reflected his expertise in his answers. We appreciate Dr. Quick for providing us with the slides used
in his presentation and allowing us to post them on the OPN Website. Dr. Adam Quick is affiliated with multiple hospitals
in the Columbus, OH area, including James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute and The Ohio State University Wexner
Medical Center.
