Movement Disorder Lab, Thursday, October 1st, Ohio
University Athens, OH
We will be having a Movement Disorder Lab for the
second year medical students at Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens, Ohio on Thursday October 1st.
This is an interview lab only and there will not be a history or physical exam done. The medical students will just be asking
you questions about problems with activities of daily living and how hard it is for you to now do tasks you use to do daily
(employment, yard work, golf, tennis, etc). We would like to invite your support group members to attend and help us educate
these students about movement disorders such as Polio, Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis, or Spinal Cord Injuries. Two
medical students will talk with you at a time for about 15 minutes, and then another pair of students will come into the exam
room to talk with you. You will not be continually interviewed for 2-hours.
The lab will be held on the West Green (near the Convocation
Center) in Irvine Hall from 10am to 12pm Thursday October 1st. We are asking that everyone be in the parking lot by 9:10am
so we can get everyone over to Irvine Hall. The lab will be supervised by Dr. Judith Rhue. Transportation from the parking
lot to the back door of our building will be provided; therefore, only requiring a short walk to the elevator. Each person
participating in the lab will be compensated $55.00. Spouses are welcome to participate and be interviewed in another exam
room.
Please call me at 740-593-2344 (my personal phone) or
email me at henderson@oucom.ohiou.edu to confirm attendance or get additional information regarding the lab. We are having several labs next
week, so please leave me a message and I will return your call as soon as I can.

My
name is Nick and I had polio in 1951 in my left leg.
I wear a 9 1/2 shoe on my left foot and a size 11 shoe on my right foot.
So when I buy shoes I'm stuck with a 9 1/2 right and 11 left
If any man has polio in the opposite leg that I do and can use these shoes and maybe trade with me, email me
