It is with great sadness to inform you that our dear KarenSue, who has been a member of group for several years, recently passed away. She had battled cancer for a very long time, though more recently her last three PET scans showed she had become cancer-free.

However, following that, she had serious trouble with her breathing, got pneumonia, aspirated and sadly, peacefully and comfortably passed away on Sat., January 25th. She leaves four precious daughters: Linda Gerber, LaBreeska, Lisa Paris and Laura Nader of whom she was so proud.

In her later years with many medical issues, there were other members of our group, such as Marie Smith, (who is also deceased) who would pick her up to come to our meetings, in addition to her family members who also brought her. She and her daughter "LaBreeska" always loved to do "signing" to music for us to enjoy occasionally. She was always a very happy and optimistic person, even though she had many trials to overcome. When she became unable to attend, she eventually went into Skilled Nursing but always told us how much loved reading our bi-monthly newsletter and staying in touch with her "polio friends."

We will surely miss our dear KarenSue, and are thankful she rests peacefully now. A memorial has been sent in her memory.
