Marianne T. (Tzangas) Weiss, 48, of Findlay, Ohio, formerly of Canton,
passed away Tuesday.
Born in Canton, she was a member of St. Haralambos
Greek Orthodox Church of Canton and the Upper Room Church of God in Findlay. A graduate of Glenwood High School, she went
on to the Ohio State University to graduate with a B.S., and from the University of Indianapolis with a M.S. She was currently
the assistant professor of physical therapy at the University of Findlay; prior to that she had been the assistant professor
at the University of Wheeling. The former owner and director of M.T. Weiss Community Physical Therapy in Canton, Marianne
had been the program director for the Physical Therapist Assistant Program at Stark State College, was the staff physical
therapist at Massillon Community Hospital and Alliance City Hospital. She was a board member of the Ohio Polio Network, and
a member of the American Physical Therapy Association. Marianne published several articles, most notably in G.I.N.I., a periodical
devoted to polio survivors.
She was
preceded in death by her brother, Byron George Tzangas, on June 4, 2002. She is survived by her husband, Terry Weiss; son,
Theo of Cincinnati; daughter Julia of the home; parents, George and Venus (Mouskondis) Tzangas; brother, John Daniel Tzangas
of Salt Lake City, Utah; sister-in-law, Teresa Tzangas; niece, Victoria and nephew, Weston Tzangas, all of Columbus.
Friends may call Thursday (TO NIGHT)
from 6 to 9 p.m. at the ROSSI FUNERAL HOME, with Trisagion services to be held at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held
Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church, with Rev. Fr. Michael Pastrikos officiating. Interment will be
at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
